Welcome | Foundation Business Simulation | Getting Started | Help GETTING STARTED Download the Simulation:  Go to the tool bar on the left hand side of your Welcome Page  Click on Launch Simulation " Click on Get Foundation.xls  Follow the instructions and right click on the word "Here" " Click  Click save target as  Save the file to any location on your hard drive  To access the simulation (your company), double click on the Foundation.xls file and enable macros. You will use this spreadsheet as you go through the other exercises. An Overview:  On your Welcome Page go to the tool bar on the left and click on Tutorials  Click on Introductory Lesson  This will take you through an overview of the marketplace and each of the function areas of your business.  Click on Role Assignment/Team Organization, which will help you and your colleagues organize yourselves as a management team. The Rehearsal Simulation:  Now it's time to practice using the Rehearsal Simulation. This lets you run a company by yourself, at your own pace. A built in Coach will guide you through the different functional areas.  At the end of this exercise, you should have an understanding of the decisions required in each area (Research & Development, Marketing, Production, and Finance), and the interactions between them.  To begin, open Foundation.xls by double clicking on the file you downloaded earlier. Enable macros. In the pop-up menu, choose the option, "The Rehearsal Simulation". Then enter your username and password. A coach will pop up to guide you through the rehearsal rounds. Once you have completed the Rehearsal Simulation Rounds, save decisions, advance through the 4 rounds and finally close Foundation.xls.
