Capsim Challenge Announced

Twice each year, Capsim alumni square off in a battle to be the ultimate champion of the Capstone and Foundation business simulations. The two week challenge pits former users in a race to determine the best in the world. Students may compete alone or in a team to take the crown.

Registration for Capsim's Fall 2011 Challenge opened last week, and already hundreds of entrants have enrolled. The Challenge begins Friday, October 28th, and the Finals begin on Friday, November 11th, with the Challenge wrapping up that weekend - Sunday, November 13th.

Over the course of 8 qualifying rounds, competitors are whittled down to 6 teams to compete in the finals. The first two rounds of the finals take place over the course of 48 hours, with the last 6 rounds of the finals in short, hour-long lightning rounds until a winner emerges.

Coordinator of the Challenge, Brendan Langen, said being a finalist in the Challenge is evidence of business acumen for any employer. "It's a great thing to put on your resume. Anyone who knows anything about our business simulations and the scope of this tournament can immediately realize how bright and prepared these students are in terms of both business acumen and knowledge."

With so much opportunity for winners in the future, the Capsim Challenge offers a tremendous chance for students to demonstrate their skills - and hopefully come out on top.
