How can I permit ExcelŽ to communicate to the Internet through Norton or McAfee firewalls? |

Page 1 of 2 Norton® Personal Firewall Open Norton Personal Firewall or Internet Security. You should see a screen similar to this. Next Select "Norton Personal Firewall" from the list on left and look for "status and settings." Select "personal firewall" and click the "configure" button on the right.
This screen opens. Select the "Programs" tab.. 
In the programs list find Excel. Set Excel® to "Automatic" or"Permit All". If you still have problems on "Automatic," you may want to change it to "Permit All."
