Do we zero out the product in R and D when retiring it? |

No! Leave the product specifications as is (there is no reason to do an R&D project on a product you are going to retire). What really want to do is go to the Production area and sell the capacity for that product by entering a negative vale in the Buy/Sell capacity cell. Selling all the capacity (that is, put a minus sign in front of the current First Shift Capacity value) will discontinue the product.
