About Us
Our Name Says It All: Teaching Management Through Simulations
For 20 years, Management Simulations, Inc.® has developed the role of simulation-based business education. We know people learn by doing; that's the heart of our philosophy. With the most sophisticated and dynamic programs available, we teach business by helping people to experience business. Whether it's for executive education or classroom instruction, the simulations that we provide are great for learning the fundamentals of business.

Our Capstone® Business Simulation® — the best selling business simulation for college and executive education in the world — and the simpler Foundation® Business Simulation, teach strategy & tactics, accounting, marketing, finance, HR, teamwork, leadership and more in schools, universities and corporations across the globe.

We are an independent organization with a single minded business focus. Simulations are our life, our only product, and the center of all our attention. Our simulations have evolved every year incorporating new technologies and support resulting in an increasingly refined experience for our participants. This continual improvement effort has been ingrained into everything we do.

A Brief MSI® History
MSI® President, Dan Smith, first developed Capstone® as an Executive Education program for several Fortune 500 corporations in 1986. The program met with great success, and was soon introduced to colleges, universities and additional corporate clients.

By 2000, MSI® had introduced the Foundation® Business Simulation and over 75,000 individuals were participating in Capstone® and Foundation® simulation-based programs. In 2003, MSI® doubled the size of its Northfield, Illinois office, and introduced the web-based versions of the programs. Today, MSI® programs have been used by over 200,000 participants. We are currently engaged in over 500 colleges, universities and elite corporations.

Our Dedicated Team
Our philosophy centers on providing successful business development programs that directly meet your company or school's objectives. To accomplish this, we have built a team of dedicated professionals, each providing support, program enhancements and service to every participant.

Our founders successfully built the cutting-edge design, implementation and tools in all of the MSI® programs. But, from leadership to administration, every MSI® team member's goal is to make the simulation experience a valued one. Read more about the MSI® leadership team..
