If you wish to launch a new simulation, you must first register with us. You will have to do this only once. When your registration is approved, you may request a simulation for your course.

Announcing the Fall 2008 Professor Challenge
The Capsim® Professor Challenge is an online seminar:
It will begin September 15th 2008 and will help demonstrate best practices for teaching the Capstone® or Foundation® business simulations and it will be fun. We are going to run the seminar like a contest.
The Professor Challenge developed out of our live three-day professor seminars we offer in Chicago. We like to have fun in our seminars, so we run them as competitions among teams of professors. (Brutal events. Professors are not gentle folk in a business simulation.)
Several of the professors suggested follow-up online seminars. Great idea, we thought, but let’s expand the concept to include new users, too. And why not introduce a little bit of entertainment along the way?
We will run the course over a 10-week period. You can expect to spend something like two hours each week running your company, listening to debriefs, and examining materials.
During the course, you will manage a Foundation® or Capstone® company (yourr choice), against a standardized set of computer managed competitors. We call this “the footrace” style of competition.
We are going to use REAL MONEY to keep score. Yes, your eyes did not deceive you. REAL MONEY. Penny-a-point kind of money. Sometimes as much as shiny new dimes kind of money.
What’s more, so the beginners are on a level playing field, you can earn REAL MONEY for examining a homework assignment that you might offer to students. Sometimes we will even be awarding GREEN BACK DOLLARS!
It would not be a competition without keeping score. We will be posting standings throughout the seminar. Boasting by the leaders, including derisive comparisons with competitors, will, of course, be encouraged.
The seminar will be run by Capsim’s president, Dan Smith. Those professors who have attended our live seminars know that Dan has an evil streak. He graduated from Machiavelli’s School of Teaching Techniques, and he is a master manipulator of student emotion. Dan is eager to offer you methods that are guaranteed to burn teaching points into the memories of impressionable students.
The Professor Challenge is FREE to any professor that has the grit to join us.
The seminar begins Monday, September 15. The course is designed to be asynchronous, although we will schedule live “Office Hours” each week.
