Capsim Accessibility Statement

Capsim provides immersive business simulations and assessments designed to bridge the "knowing-doing gap" by placing learners in realistic, "day-in-the-life" scenarios. Our product suite includes Inbox Simulations, customizable Business Simulations, and various Assessments tailored for both academic and corporate talent development.

We are committed to providing accessible products. To guide our internal audit and remediation work, we’ve partnered with Accessible Web, a team of experts in digital accessibility. Accessible Web is providing tools and support as we work to remove barriers and work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA for the following products:

• Regularly scanning our website for accessibility issues that can be detected automatically.

Some content that appears in our products are not HTML or in a plain text format. This rich-media content has unique considerations when building for accessibility and requires to be treated differently. We are currently assessing the accessibility of our documents.

Adobe Acrobat PDF Files

There are a large number of documents in Adobe Acrobat® Portable Document Format (PDF).

PDF format is used to preserve the content and layout of hard copy publications. Publications in PDF can be viewed and printed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader®, version 3.0 or higher. You can download and get help using the Acrobat Reader at the Adobe Systems, Inc. site. The downloadable Acrobat Reader software is available at no charge from Adobe.

People using screen-reading devices generally are unable to read documents directly in PDF format, unless they have an accessibility plug-in installed on their system along with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. This plugin is also available at no charge from Adobe. Adobe offers online tools that will convert PDF files to HTML on request. To get the plugin and latest news about Adobe’s accessibility tools and services, visit the Access Adobe site.

We are currently testing that all videos support closed captions and/or subtitles when relevant to the streaming content. When activated, streaming media can be made more accessible by supplying a text alternative to spoken language.

The Simulation and various training modules use sliding and enterable data pickers powered by the jQuery UI JavaScript libraries. While jQuery UI gives structure to entering in data, developers have taken it another step further to build a more accessible experience by adding keyboard support and incorporating ARIA tags to signify changes to screen readers.

When building content we sometimes use third-party APIs and technology to present a better collaborative educational experience. While we exercise control over which technology is sourced we do not have absolute control over the specific content or delivery method. We strive for an inclusive experience but may sometimes be limited by this technology, and are at the whim of the parent companies update frequency. In these cases we have encouraged these third-party providers to always take an accessible stance when delivering content. Third-party functionality will periodically be upgraded and switched out with better, more accessible solutions when available and without notice. Native code, content and technology authored by Capsim has been reviewed for accessibility but third-party technology is not covered under the accessibility review.

CometChat

CometChat is a cross-platform voice, video and text chat service that’s used to help users collaborate when using the CapsimCore platform. While not a necessary element of the platform it is a method of group communication embedded within the site.

TinyMCE is a web-based rich text editor used within certain Capsim products to enable content creation and editing. TinyMCE is developed and maintained by a third party.

TinyMCE provides accessibility features including keyboard navigation support, ARIA labeling, and screen reader compatibility.

ChatGPT

Capsim may incorporate AI-powered assistance features powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology to enhance learning and user support experiences. While not a necessary element of the platform it is a method of users navigating directly to OpenAI’s website to use trained GPTs on Capsim’s products.

Cloudflare (DNS)

Cloudflare provides DNS, security, and performance optimization services for Capsim’s websites and applications. These services operate primarily at the network and infrastructure level and are not typically user-facing.

In certain cases, users may interact with Cloudflare features (such as bot protection or error messaging). These features are delivered and maintained by Cloudflare.
