Capsim has drastically expanded my skill set, from being a Client Relationship Consultant (CRC), to an Account Manager and now my current role of Associate Product Manager. I’ve been able to have the full experience working with clients, from support to sales to now designing new features clients are interested in. I’ve also been able to form friendships within the office and make long-lasting memories whether during company outings, holiday celebrations and even Capsim Olympics!
The one thing I love about Capsim the most is the flexibility. I was never discouraged from taking on a new role or trying new projects that were important to me. The way Capsim works is flexible, adopting an AGILE methodology providing clients with quick iterations of our products that enhance their experience. My coworkers are also flexible, willing to listen to each other’s ideas and help one another with a variety of projects.

I started with an office administrator job and quickly moved on to being a Client Relationship Consultant. Since Capsim is a smaller and more entrepreneurial company I’ve developed a wide range of skills including the use of Adobe products, sales, and even ar/ap. I feel like I have done a little bit of everything.

Capsim opened its doors for me while I was still pursuing my Undergraduate studies, finalizing my career choices and looking for mentorship to grow my future. My first experiences at Capsim and with Capsim were in the TGIF group, which met Fridays to test different products. Shortly after that, my role within the company grew; I spent a good quarter of the year working as a Marketing Intern. Then, stars aligned, and I was able to secure the Accounting Internship, which eventually led to the FT position. Hard work pays off!

Almost too many to count! I have worked in a number of different functions at Capsim, starting in the Marketing side before shifting into more of a strategic role, and eventually moving into Product Design & Development.
During my time, I have served as a Marketing Coordinator, Associate Marketing Manager, Business Analyst, Associate Product Manager, Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, and now as Manager of Product Design and Development. At each stage, I have grown and learned something that has changed my outlook on being a professional.
I love that I have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of future business leaders of the world. By creating different educational tools for people who want to pursue a career in business, I am involved in changing the way people learn. We shape the tools that people use to help make them future business leaders. That is a great feeling.

My current role at Capsim is managing the client relationship team, but my role has evolved over the years. Without going into too much detail, during that time I have advised students, provided support to instructors, facilitated dozens of corporate programs, travelled to four continents, and worked with some truly outstanding and talented individuals.
There is so much to love about working at Capsim but the thing that I have always found most satisfying is when a change that I suggested is implemented. I know it might sound corny, but everyone in this company has a voice and we are always trying to find ways to improve. One of Capsim’s core values is that we provide solutions and make a difference for our clients. Seeing that same mentality applied to the workplace is equally gratifying.

I moved to Chicago after I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in marketing and interviewed with Reda Chafai (then the Director of Marketing & Sales, and now the current President). I actually didn’t get the job, but made enough of an impression on Reda to earn an internship in the marketing department. After a few months, I received a full time offer as an Online Marketing Associate and after a couple of years, I was promoted to Online Marketing Manager. Most recently, I was promoted to my current position of Marketing Manager and have held this position since Fall of 2017.
I love that I get to be a key component of bringing Capsim’s vision to life — cultivating, developing and inspiring the next generation of business leaders. Capsim is still a relatively small company, which let’s you get your hands dirty and make an impact. It’s a very rewarding place to work.
